Investment Climate Research

The investment climate agenda focuses on how different policies and government behaviors can foster growth, productivity, investment and employment. The literature on growth has traditionally focused on aggregate or cross-country data. The next frontier is to better understand the microeconomics of growth. This involves more detailed information on specific institutional arrangements and indicators of the investment climate, as well as information on firm activities.

This website on Research on Investment Climate presents papers written by World Bank staff on issues related to Investment Climate constraints to growth and poverty reduction, as well as provides links to some firm-level datasets coming out of past work.
