The global Annual Bank Conference on Development Economics (Global ABCDE) was held for the first time in East Asia on May 29-30, 2006 at Mita House in Tokyo. The overall theme of the conference was "Rethinking Infrastructure for Development".

RBCDE St. Petersburg 2006
The Regional Bank Conference on Development Economics this year was held in St. Petersburg on January 18-19, 2006 on the theme "Beyond Transition", drawing on the experience of over a decade of the deepest change in economic systems yet undertaken in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
